Designing and Manufacturing Flexible, Foldable Supercapacitor for Energy Storage

Postdoc researcher of Plasma Physics Research Center, Leila Fekri Aval, succeeded in storing energy in multi layers flexible and foldable plate , the SRB Public Relations reports.

The Research Project Manager , Dr. Fekri Aval said that the term ‘supercapacitors’ is reserved for devices that hold over 10 times as much energy per unit volume as a traditional capacitor, and that can charge and discharge quickly. Paper supercapacitors are lighter and cheaper than other types.

Line producion of this design for industrial and homemade will increase and the cost reduce, making them available to the public , he added.

According to Fekri Aval, storing energy is done by heavy rechargeable batteries. The supercapacitors could do this in a just few minutes and they can be charged and discharged more times over their lifespan. These new supercapacitors could effectively save energy even when they are under torsion or bending.

The project of “designing and manufacturing flexible, foldable Supercapacitor for energy storage” is supported by the PresidentFund  for Support of Research  at the  Plasma Physics Research Center of SRB under the guidance of Prof. Mahmood Ghoraannevis.
